HOME - SCHOOL AGREEMENT

 

At Rookery we value our partnership with parents and the wider community. It is our aim to empower everyone to work together in harmony in order to fulfil individual potential.

 

1 School – We will

 

  •   Provide opportunity for all parents/carers to be involved in the life of the school  through:

    • attendance/support for events/assemblies

    • volunteering to support in classroom or on trips

    • becoming a governor or being involved in the parent forum

  •    Keep parents informed about school activities through letters, newsletters, notices  in reception, outdoor notice boards and in the Children’s Centre building.

  • Arrange Parents Evenings each term to discuss children’s progress
  • Keep parents informed about curriculum through events and exhibitions of children’s work
  • Celebrate achievement of all kinds through certificates, awards and rewards
  • Contact parents if there are any concerns regarding attendance, punctuality, work, behaviour and/ or health and well being.
  • Safeguard all the children in our care, this may mean seeking advice from external agencies including social services.

 

  2 Parents / Guardians – I / We will

 

In line with the school’s new behaviour policy ensure that I / we will support my child to achieve their very best in the areas of;

    • Attendance

Demonstrate an understanding of the importance attached to attending school every day and follow the DfE guidance on term time absence and extended leave. (see attached)

    • Punctuality

Make sure that my child attends school on time (8.45) and I collect my child promptly from school at 3.15 pm.

    • Readiness for learning

      Ensure that my child has the right attitude, equipment and resources to ensure their readiness for learning

    • Participation

      Have a good understanding about my child’s life at school and support their participation in activities.  I will support my child’s participation in educational visits, extra-curricular activities and personal development opportunities.

       

      Attend Parents Evenings and any other discussions regarding my child’s progress to ensure that I am supporting their learning journey at Rookery School. Ensure that I inform the school of changes in contact information.

       

      Let the school know about any concerns or problems that may affect my child’s work, behaviour or health and actively support my child’s learning needs. This may mean working in partnership with a number of agencies eg Educational Psychologist/Behaviour Support under the direction of the Learning Mentor and the Deputy Head Teacher.

    • Behaviour

      Ensure that I/ we support our child’s behavioural development and attitude.  To mutually support the school and seek support from the school for my child’s behavioural needs.  

       

    • Uniform and PE kit

      Ensure that my child attends school wearing the correct uniform and that they have their PE kit on the relevant day(s) of the week.

       

    • Homework

      Support my child with homework and other opportunities for home learning.
